Luxury Holidays to the Middle East

Luxury Holidays to the Middle East

From the bright lights, modernity and awe-inspiring technology of cities to the vast desert-esque landscapes, marvellous New Wonders of the World and vibrant paradise islands, the Middle East has come to be regarded as one of the tourism hotspots of the world. Not only for the destination itself, but for the incredible number of airline routes connecting through its hubs. Whether you’re planning a citybreak, or a stop on route to a long-haul escape or a cruise exploring the Arabian Gulf, our travel experts are here to help.

Some of our favourite destinations across the middle east

Burj Al Arab Dubai

dubai

Dubai – the home of Emirates, endless iconic landmarks including the Burj Al Arab, the Palm, Burj Khalifa, but there’s so much more to this Middle Eastern epicentre. The city is naturally a spectacle that many will want to explore; with a bounty of luxury hotels & resorts downtown, by the beach or on a man-made island, the choice is yours. Dubai can also be a part of a wider adventure – explore the majestic Al Wadi desert or visit the tranquil beaches of Ras Al Khaimah. Looking for something lively? The city is scattered with popular pool parties, BBQ lunches aboard yachts and dinner in the dunes. Whatever your adventure looks like, Dubai can deliver.

Anantara Jabal Akdhar resort oman

Oman

Perhaps a lesser known destination for holidays in the Middle East, but by no means lacking on adventure, culture or paradise; Oman is definitely one to add to your bucket list. Regarded for the dazzling souks and superb seafood, the capital of Muscat has lots to see & do, from the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque – able to hold up to 20,000 guests – to Al Qurum Beach with golden sands and a gentle Arabian breeze. For something special, look no further than Zighy Bay or perhaps look a little further inland… the Jebel Akhdar mountain range is home to incredible views and equally incredible luxury resorts, perfect for extending your stay in Oman.

Abu Dhabi Mosque

Abu Dhabi

With outstanding architecture almost everywhere you turn, Abu Dhabi is a very attractive destination; for everything it can offer, too. From the stunning islands with pristine beaches to world-famous theme parks such as Ferrari World & Warner Brothers, to the rich history & culture, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the more recent addition, Louvre Abu Dhabi are must-see’s during your stay. Etihad Airways provide a fantastic onboard product and worldwide connections, making this destination perfect for combining with a long-haul destination. There’s also lots of luxury resorts to choose from here and even some private islands!

AlUla Saudi Arabia

Alula

Haven’t heard of AlUla? Don’t worry, many haven’t but it’s by far one of the most ‘up & coming’ destinations in the Middle East. From its tranquil desert beauty to historic monuments of ancient civilisations to heart-racing adventure opportunities and of course, a selection of luxury properties, AlUla is a unique place to holiday. Once a famous incense-trading route, now the Old Town is an abandoned labyrinth to be explored. Thrillseekers can zipline through, climb up, or abseil down majestic mountains before returning to their desert retreat such as the Banyan Tree. This destination is easy to combine with a visit to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, too.

Doha

From the World Cup to Formula 1, Doha is known for hosting sporting spectacles, but what else is this modern gem famous for? Doha Corniche is a waterfront promenade extending for about 7km and home to several luxury resorts. For somewhere a little more private, Banana Island is secluded from the urban lifestyle. There’s no shortage of cultural sites; from bustling souqs to impressive museums, you can immerse yourself into the history of Qatar. For a spot of fun, visit Khor Al Adaid; where the sea floods the desert – a phenomenon that occurs in just 2 other places on earth.

Petra & Wadi rum

Instantly recognisable from all angles, Petra, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World is a sight to behold and is a key ‘attraction’ of the Middle East. The journey on foot builds the anticipation as you wander down ever-narrowing paths, somehow carved through monstrous rock formations, eventually opening up to the entranceway. Our travel experts hvae experienced this first hand and can help to arrange a number of group or private tours, but this region can easily become a longer holiday. Twin this adventure with a luxury stay in Wadi Rum; perhaps the Luxotel Bubble Resort; a perfect base of which to explore the area and evenings filled with stargazing.
