Some of our favourite luxury resorts in the maldives

Ritz Carlton Fari Islands
It’s easy to see why Ritz Carlton Maldives Fari Islands is one of the highest rated resorts in the region since it opened in 2021. A range of beautifully modern 1 & 2 bedroom beach & overwater villas, along with a spectacular 5 bedroom private estate. With a delicious range of dining options – from relaxed beach club to Chinese, Italian, Middle Eastern and beyond – there’s something for everyone, as well as a large spa, kids and sports facilities and much more.

Niyama Private Island
Niyama excels at offering a wonderful blend of relaxation and activities; the resort is split across 2 islands, aptly named Chill & Play and you’ll feel this vibe as soon as you arrive. Spacious beach & water villas await along with a large range of dining options, including speciality events including South African Braii. Plenty of sports & watersports await, from tennis and badminton to their famous surf spot. A visit to Subsix, their underwater restaurant for lunch is a must, too.

St Regis Vommuli
A brand synonymous with butler service, St Regis Vommuli delivers just that; a refined, attentive service to please even the most discerning of guests. You’ll also find incredibly large villas, particularly the overwater with huge outdoor decks, private pools and direct ocean access. From cool dining venues such as Cargo to the nightly champagne sabre ceremony and even coral planting with the marine-biologist, you’ll leave this resort with a heart full of memories to cherish.

JW marriott Kaafu Atoll
Considering this resort is only 5 months old, it’s already packing a punch and delivering some fantastic results. The brand new JW Marriott Kaafu is a convenient 12 minute speedboat from Malé, so you’ll soon be island-side and relaxing. Very generously sized (and modern) overwater villas are the lead-in option, as well as boasting some wonderful dining options and gorgeous nearby reefs, including one of the most popular nurse shark diving spots.

Hideaway Resort & Spa
Located to the far north of the Maldives, Hideaway Resort & Spa is one of the largest resorts our travel experts have visited. Boasting an incredible amount of space & privacy between villas, it’ll feel like your own private island. For an extra touch of luxury, consider the Signature Collection for opulent residences. You’ll also find a selection of dining options, a wide range of sports facilities (including golf), excursions and more, along with a bustling reef surrounding the resort.

Amilla Maldives
Whilst Amilla Maldives is currently going under a rebrand and takeover, the resort will retain its authenticity and focusses toward sustainability and accessibility, as a selection of their inventory is designed for guests with accessibility needs. Our travel experts love the Reef Villas; perched right on the edge before the drop-off for abundant marine life. The resort also grows a lot of its own produce and only features an organic wine collection of over 120+ labels.
Some of our favourite unique resorts in the maldives

Patina Maldives
If there was ever a resort that can make you feel like a James Bond villain, it's Patina Maldives, located in the Fari Islands. This 41 hectare resort boasts modern minimalistic design and architecture everywhere you look, plenty of space and pristine aspects. With 1 & 2 bedroom options (as well as a 3 bedroom Beach House), all featuring a private pool, you'll find it hard to explore the resort, but our travel experts urge you to enjoy the incredible range of dining options, art installations and range of wellness & fitness facilities, something to suit every type of traveller.

Gili Lankanfushi
One of the first resorts our travel experts visited and a classic in the Maldives, Gili Lankanfushi is a true Robinson Crusoe experience. With just 45 beautifully traditional villas including our favourite Crusoe Residences - villas floating in the ocean (no jetty) with your own speedboat - you truly feel the privacy and seclusion here. An incredibly tailored service awaits from the moment you arrive (we won't spoil the surprises!) with exceptional dining, a spectacular wine cellar, bountiful reef to enjoy and close proximity to Malé, make Gili Lankanfushi a great choice.
Things to do in THE MALDIVES
When it comes to this part of the Indian Ocean, a question our travel experts often face is “won’t I get bored in the Maldives?”. You may believe these tiny island escapes don’t have much going on… we want to break that myth! The Maldives isn’t a sightseeing destination necessarily, but each & every resort offers a plethora of magical & memorable experiences waiting to impress & delight you. So between the options below & some tranquil time, no, we don’t think you’ll ever get bored in the Maldives!

Colourful Coral
Many resorts have their own reef, perfect for a snorkelling experience. You can often enter the water directly from your villa, too.

Explore the Island
A great way to start the day is with a walk along the beach around the island. A popular alternate is to use the resort's free bikes.

Witness Wildlife
From the land to the sea, there's lots of wildlife around. Take a boat excursion from your resort to meet dolphins, turtles & more.

Private Beach Dinner
For the romantics at heart, take your loved one down to the beach for a private, candlelit, gourmet dinner under the starlit sky.

Get Wet
If you prefer to keep active, try all of the watersports at your disposal - from jet skiing to paddle boarding and even PADI certified dives.

Meet the Locals
Leave the boundaries of your island retreat and spend time on a neighbouring island, meeting the locals to learn about their history.

Cooking Class
With delicious food surrounding you, learn from the experts in a cooking class, where you can perfect Maldivian seafood dishes.

Sommelier Session
You're likely going to need some wine to go with all this worldly cuisine, so opt for a wine-tasting experience with the resort's sommelier.
